Jirah Farms is a Black-owned, woman-led working farm rooted in one simple mission: to provide.
Founded on Earth Day, April 22, 2021, Jirah began with a desire to address food insecurity and create greater access to fresh, locally grown food. Jirah means "God Provides," a meaning that has guided the farm from the beginning — to provide food, opportunity, education, healing, and space for people to grow.
What started with agriculture has grown into something much bigger. Today, Jirah Farms brings together farming, community, and mental health in an environment intentionally designed for connection. Alongside growing fresh produce and raising animals, the farm creates opportunities for people to slow down, learn, participate, and reconnect — with themselves, with others, and with the land.
Jirah Care provides NARM-informed, CBT/DBT-supported care, with farm-based experiences expanding as Jirah grows. The work emphasizes understanding patterns, building emotional awareness, strengthening relationships, and creating meaningful, lasting change.
Beyond therapy, Jirah continues the community-centered work it was founded on through agricultural education, youth initiatives, farm experiences, workshops, field trips, fresh-food access, and collaborations with local organizations. As the farm grows, so will opportunities for animal-assisted experiences, farm-to-table gatherings, wellness programming, and hands-on education.
Jirah has never been about simply growing food. We grow food. We grow people. We grow community.
Four years of building Jirah has meant dirt, setbacks, rebuilding, long days, limited resources, faith, and figuring things out when there wasn't a blueprint. The vision has evolved, but the mission hasn't.
To provide to those in need. To provide our community with better options. To provide opportunities for growth, health, and connection.
And we're still growing. Welcome to Jirah.
